Reporting Yahoo Groups Spam

Did you know that ‘regular’ Yahoo Groups users do not have to wait for the group admin (or the blue moon) to clean out the spammers?

If you already do, I am proud of you. But for me the fact that a general member can participate in getting rid of those spamming the group was as a complete revelation to me.

I have to say that Yahoo does not make finding out ways to report abuse to them easy. This is especially true for YahooGroups. I had to search for a couple of hours before I found an obscure link to their report form (posted by a user in the answers.yahoo.com section, mind you). Grrrr.

So here I am sharing it with the rest of you:
1. http://help.yahoo.com/fast/help/us/groups/cgi_abuse
2. An easier method: forward the YahooGroups spam post (including all headers) to:
- groups-abuse@cc.yahoo-inc.com
- (less preferrable) network-abuse@cc.yahoo-inc.com

Since forwarding an email takes less time than filling out the form, using the second method will give you the patience to report more spammers :) Enjoy.
